The North-South relationship has completely escaped the time frame of the concept of compatriots- Kim Yo-jong

North Korea has no interest in any policy or proposals for reconciliation from South Korea, the powerful sister of its leader Kim Jong Un said on July 28 in the first response to South Korean liberal President Lee Jae Myung’s peace overtures.

Speech by Vice Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Yo-jong

Stopping loudspeaker broadcasts to North Korea, stopping leaflet distribution, allowing individual South Koreans to visit North Korea...

These are the details of the "sincere efforts" that the Lee Jae-myung government has been making since taking office with the hope of improving relations with us.

Going a step further, the new Minister of Unification Chung Dong-young suggested, "Ending the time of strong-arms and opening the time of good-for-good, reconciliation and cooperation" while talking about "restoring the lost peace" and "restoring the collapsed inter-Korean relations".

Recently, he has been fostering vain fantasies by speculating about the possibility of inviting someone to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit to be held in Gyeongju in a few months. We didn't care who was elected president in Korea, or what policies were established, so we never evaluated them at all.

But this time, let's make our position clear.

If we talk about the suspension of propaganda broadcasts that South Korean authorities described as the first sign of restoration of trust between the South and the North, all of those are problems that South Korea brought upon itself, and no matter what they do, it will only be their own problem, and it will only be a reversal of things that they should not have done a long time ago.

In other words, it is not something that deserves evaluation.

If South Korea, which unilaterally declared our country as the main enemy and encouraged extreme confrontational atmosphere in the past, expected that it could now reverse all the results it brought upon itself with a few sentimental words, then there could be no greater miscalculation. The past few years, which the Lee Jae-myung administration described as the “worst time” and “foolish time,” were not, in a way, meaningless times for us.

We were able to reach the extremely important historical conclusion that “South Korea can never be a target of reconciliation and cooperation, whether it claims to be “democratic” or “conservative,” and we were able to break away from the history that was very tiring and uncomfortable due to the rhetorical expression of “compatriots,” and we were able to completely shake off the existing concepts that contradict reality.

Looking at the reality that the relationship between states on the Korean Peninsula is permanently fixed, and the fact that the normalization of the Ministry of Unification, which must be dismantled, was put forward as a task of the times, we can once again confirm that “the true colors of South Korean politicians who are mentally captive to the delusion of absorption-based unification can never change.” Even if we put aside the past actions of previous Korean regimes and look at only the 50 days of Lee Jae-myung’s presidency, he has been talking about easing tensions on the Korean Peninsula and improving relations with North Korea, but his blind faith in the South Korea-US alliance and his attempts at confrontation with us are no different from his predecessors.

As the world will soon witness, once again, there will be no day when the apathy will be lifted due to the continuous enforcement of large-scale joint military exercises of an aggressive nature beyond our southern border, and the US and South Korea will try to shift the responsibility for the worsening situation on the Korean Peninsula that they have created to us, just as they have done in their usual ways.

No matter how much the Lee Jae-myung government pretends to be a compatriot and pretends to do all kinds of righteous things to attract our attention and receive international attention, there can be no change in our country’s perception of South Korea, and the second hand of the clock of history that fundamentally changed the nature of South Korea-US relations cannot be turned back. "We are not interested in what policies are established or what proposals are made in Seoul, and we have no business or issues to discuss with South Korea," the official position is clearly stated once again.

The North-South relationship has already completely and irreversibly moved beyond the time frame of the concept of compatriots.
